Learning German is not a big deal but main thing is: if you have started Learning German then you have to follow each and every rule of the language Grammar. There are some words which are used in different way in German but in English they have a single meaning. For example: Today we will learn the words “etwas” and “einige”. In English both words have single meaning “some” but in German we use them differently. So let’s start learning with examples:

We use “etwas” for non-countable things. By using “etwas” we cannot define the quantity of objects or things. And “einige” is used to tell the quantity of objects and things. If we want to show that “how many” things do you have then we use the exact quantity but if things are in quantity and we want to show some quantity then we use this word “einige”. Let’s see some examples:

Etwas:

He drinks some Milk.
Er trinkt etwas Milch.

I speak some German.
Ich spreche etwas Deutsch.

We bring something to eat.
Wir bringen etwas zum Essen.

Einige:

He has some books.
Er hat einige Bücher.

My father purchases some pens.
Mein Vater kauft einige Kulis.

You can take some fruits.
Du kannst einige Obste nehmen.
